Job Role

As a Product Specialist the successful applicant will be helping develop, implement, and support our travel technology products and solutions with our customers. This will include liaising with customers and determining requirements for travel solutions, rolling out any new products to market, testing product releases, supporting and problem solving operational product issues, and assisting other departments with regards to bringing on new customers. Knowledge of the travel industry is essential, and project management and planning skills an advantage, to be considered for this role.

The successful applicant must be capable of working independently, and have a mature, professional, and productive approach to working from their own location.Team skills are also important, as often work will involve small teams of both internal and client personnel. The role is on a Full Time contract basis, working standard US Eastern Time Business hours, and has a 3 month probation period.

Professional Skills
  • GDS Expertise essential
  • Experience as a Travel Consultant essential, with other operational roles an advantage
  • Min 5 years experience in the Travel Industry, with large Corporate Travel Experience an advantage
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving ability
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle customer complaints
  • Proven ability to Plan and Execute activities to a plan consistently
  • Ability to self organize and work independently with initiative
  • Ability to work constructively with others to achieve team orientated goals
  • Good Microsoft Office, Word and Excel skills essential, Microsoft Project and Visio an advantage
  • Good attention to detail, in documentation skills, and day-to-day trouble shooting
  • Apart from English, other languages are highly desirable.

Home Office

Travel Bytes will supply the Laptop and printer/fax. The employment contract requires that the individual maintain a home office, including: internet connection, office equipment (desk, chair, etc...), stationery, and headset (skype) and telephone. Allowances have been included in the employment contract salary.
