Finding a
job in the Middle East is not that easy. Though,
there are a large number of jobs
available to qualified applicants, the
selection process of many employers is often
tedious (by American or European Standards) and
not very transparent. In some ways this is
understandable, because
it costs
a lot of money to employ and then settle an
expatriate employee in the area. So the employers
want to get it right and do not want to
experiement.
Jobs are generally
permanent but short term contract positions are
not uncommon. The usual contract period is 1 year
with either a 3 or 6 month probationary period.

Many
Middle Eastern based recruiters and agencies
offering jobs in the Middle East will require you
to pay an application or registration fee.
Normally this is a small amount, somewhere
between $49.00 and $99.00. The selection
procedure is often slow and you should expect to
wait for one to four months, before anything
happens.

The

The
government of the UAE has tried, and continued to
succeed, to build up the nation into a global
competitor. This is largely due to the vision that
His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He
saw the unification of the emirates into one

Shaikh Zayed, new institutions were created, helping the
nation further itself on the international stage.

sector could enter and flourish.
From the
1980s to 1990s, the UAE’s population increased
exponentially. The private sector also attracted
many expatriates from around the world, making the UAE a
diverse workplace.
Today,
the UAE is one of the fasted growing nations in the
world. It has countless projects and developments
occurring simultaneously. It is becoming a global
competitor in a variety of industries: from oil to
telecommunications to construction. Not only is it
succeeding in those industries, but also in the tourist
industry. Millions of people visit the UAE each
year, eager to see this miracle nation that seems to be a
